Why buy our plant starts?
We have selected the best varieties to grow in our lower Michigan climate for Spring, Summer and Fall gardening.
Most of our seedlings are started indoors under LED light to begin their life during mid winter. Since Michigan can have extreme weather into late May, our Summer plants will be closely monitored and under cover by either poly tunnels or in our un-heated greenhouse until fear of frost is past.
For those that have the infrastructure to plant in spring (A low tunnel, greenhouse, cold frame, etc.). Our Spring and cold hardy plants will be available at an earlier date.
Our plant starts are grown in living soil with all OMRI certified inputs. We never us any harmful sprays or pesticides. We take advantage of living microbiology to ensure we never have to treat our plants with a chemical fertilizer. All seeds are responsibly sourced with either a USDA Organic certification or are regeneratively grown and sourced from our home garden.
We are a Michigan made small business and appreciate your support!

When/where do I pickup?
Plants will be available late April and in early to mid May. Keep in mind Michigan can receive frost into late May. We can have early Spring plants available for those with season extension, just ask for details.
Plants can be picked up at a public location in South East Michigan near Ann Arbor at the I94 and US23 area. We can also meet near Brooklyn at the US12 and M50 area.
How do I pay?
Electronic payment options available. Final payment will be at time of pickup.
How much do plant starts cost?
All of our 3 and 4 inch pots, and herbs will be $5. We are asking for a minimum of 4 plants per order. Late season tomatoes that have been potted up to a one gallon pot will be $10.
Can they go directly into full sun?
Yes! We will get each small plant ready to be directly planted outside under full sun before you pick them up. This process is called hardening off, and we do this overtime to ensure the plants keep their full potential!
How do I place an order?
At the bottom of this page there is a way to get in contact with us. You can also direct message us on instagram or email us at rosemarysoasis@gmail.com
How do you start your seeds?
All plant starts are sprouted in living soil with all OMRI certified inputs and never treated with any pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Most starts use soil blocks so we can eliminate the need for consumable and plastic seed trays. Seedlings started in mid winter are grown under LED light and hardened off under the sun throughout early spring. Other seedlings may be sprouted in our un-heated greenhouse and protected.
After you get your plants:
Depending on when you receive your plants, keep in mind that a frost can still occur in Michigan through the end of May. Check your weather and make sure you’re in the clear before they go in the ground. Most of the plants we offer cannot tolerate frost, and will need to be protected. Once the fear of frost is officially gone, we recommend planting your starts in the ground on a cloudy day to reduce the stress from transplanting. Even though we have prepped them for full sun, transplanting is tough on them regardless. We’re not responsible for mistakes during this process but we are happy to guide you so that you can have successfully established plants.
